The Collective!

Afternoon Zombies!

Last week at the meeting we dug into 2 subjects that are quite important: the next intellectual property to be worked on after Proton and the business model of the company. What was decided is that WunderWurld become a collective where we work on projects to create products in our spare time and then we reap the profits equally off said product: a company for artists by artists, you get paid for the work you did and not the length of the title you held. We are the clients and the investors, our goal is to make an awesome product and the money is only the bi-product! Time to set sail!

We also came up with the pipeline:

1. Create an intellectual property > create its story.

|
|
V

2. Create an animated short based on the story of the I.P.'s universe.

|
|
V

3. Create a simple side scrolling game to perpetuate the existence of the animated short, published in popular social mediums i.e. facebook games, iphone apps.

|
|
V

4. Advertise and merchandise the above products through simple cheap means, locally and online social networks.

|
|
V

5. ???

|
V

6. Profit.

The next project will be heavily planned out before any creative work gets any where close to computers, pencils or pieces of paper. Also because people will want their monies when there are monies to collect, a contract will have to be written up and signed to participate on the next project. At the end of the project the amount of work you did will be tallied and changed into a %, that % will equal your share of the company stocks paid through your time and work invested in the product and only directly related to said product.

The assignments will be laid out like so:

  • Department

  • Assignment Name - (Its name in addition to any outliers i.e. Scene #37 "Alternative" - Poop Snatcher)

  • Assignment Weight  ___% -  (How much work it contains by %, the weight by department and then the weight by project) Missing deadlines without significant reason will degrade the overall value of your stock. The weight of the scene is taken into consideration of pre-production; it can be adjusted in case the worked turned out more complicated than thought.

  • Contents - (The instructions of the assignment and the assets needed to achieve it credibly)

  • Assignment Deadline

The I.P's created by the collective of the company will be wholly owned by the company director and the company director will be given every right to use it in any fashion requisitioned, however the company director does not have rights to the shares of each individual product but only the individuals who were bound by the contract of their respective projects can collect on the profits of the product. Your shares will obviously be void if you did not uphold your contract and it will default with ownership of the company director ( you would have to be a real ass for that to happen ). There will also probably be a threshold of work needed to be completed to be entitled to your shares i.e. a 5% contribution to the entire project.

The contract will be very interesting to write, but that's going to be aways from now, technically not too far but it's still far.

The most important thing about the next project is it will be made in "Blender" a free software program, and so you will need to learn how to use it if you're going to hop on board, I've been checking it out and it's pretty decent so far :)

Anyway, enough rabble! Work done this week on Proton:

[Animation]

- Shot 26 has had 8 zombies integrated, the 7 generic ones will likely be layered in their current position
- Shot 28 had its length adjusted
- The 2nd half of shot 29 has been blocked, two more zombies are almost finished for this shot
- Shot 30 has been polished off
- Shot 31 has had its blocking approved
- Shot 34 finished
- Shot 39 had its camera adjusted, animation re-blocked and is almost finished
- More progress on zombie cycles as usual
- ACT 3 has had revisions across the board pertaining to camera angles, moves and cutting

Here's the next cut on ACT3, it's getting there but there are a lot of new things I want to pick at animation wise, mostly the zombies now that I can see them in a crowd. Grr can't wait to hear the sound design once we get this all done; work faster I say! Enjoy:

[Tech Art]

- Alexa finally reveals the Nazi banners!

- Workin' shaders for Proton

[Sound]
- Further sound design has been postponed till ACT 2 and 3 are done.

[Blog Updates]

- Outsourced accreditation has been added to the credits list, go see where the free stuff is coming from :-D

[Jobs]

- Character Modellers
- Cameraman (Live Action Documentary) <--- Must be in Vancouver, you're needed on set
